The story is fabulous! King´s ability to generate empathy for his characters is amazing; you start to root for them almost immediately. Revival tells the story of a minister gone bad due to tragic circumstances. The protagonist Jamie Morton inadvertently becomes both witness and accomplice of minister Jacobs' strange cures and revivals throughout his life. Lifelong adventures are one of my favorites and I imagine they must be quite difficult to master in storytelling, but King does a superb job keeping it interesting and fun. Although it's technically a horror story it's pace is quite awry and some may feel it doesn't deliver on the horror genre; but oh boy does it deliver! Patience is rewarded with a blood cooling outcome; that feeds both from King's writing and your own jumpstarted and overloaded imagination. Horror in the style of Lovecraft and Shelley's Frankenstein that feels fresh and original in the authors prose.
